Poisoning pigeons in the . . . Hospital

News item of the day: http://tinyurl.com/f2f3a

All Tom Lehrer fans, join in now . . .

I saw that story on Fox 23 last night while I was getting my daily dose of Porco. Rent To Kill is the name of the pest control company? Doesn’t it sound like Steven Segal should be working there?

HA!
Schenectady is pummled by pigeons!

If only Johnny Carson was still on TV to milk this for all it’s worth!

Will no one think of the pigeons?

Someone already thought of the pigeons; that’s why they’ve been poisoned, silly!

“My pulse will be quickenin’ with each drop of Avitrol…”

Nope, it just isn’t the same.

“When they see us coming the birdies all try n’ hide,
But they still go for peanuts when coated with cy-a-niiiiide…”

They probably meant Rentokil.

Amusingly, the same corporation does office plant and indoor landscaping service. Just how healthy is an office plant going to be from rent-to-kill?

I hate birds with a passion, but I do not like them to be poisoned. I just like them to stay far away from me and, in the case of chickens, be delicious. Poor pigeons. Poor, horrible pigeons.

"But it’s not against any religion-

to want to dispose of a pigeon,"

The hospital could maybe try something that’s worked in at least other place I know about: the hospital could reduce the problem by arranging a local roost for, well, a pigeon hawk.

Features occasional pigeon feathers falling out of the sky, and really only reduces the problem - cuz, like, there will still be lots more pigeons than pigeon hawks under any circumstances.

No, I’ve heard the same news story – it was “Rent to Kill”.

I think the guys who run it must have seen signs for “Rentokil” and thought 'Rent to Kill" would be a cute name for an exterminator. I know that I’ve thought of it, by analogy with “Rent to Own”.
