Poland elections: Law & Justice Party appears to have been defeated

I apologize for continuing that discussion; I hadn’t seen the title change.

No need to apologize. I fixed the title some time after you had already posted. About an hour, I think.

I apologize, but have to point out that I was not assuming bad faith. Creating a click bait title here in Pedantria was a merit of sorts to me. And it did lead to loads of clicks (AFAIK), for very worthy news.

Polish President Andrzej Duda, who is allied with Law and Justice, is delaying until the last possible moment convening parliament post-election and will ask incumbent PM Mateusz Morawiecki to take the first shot at forming a government.

While this shouldn’t prevent the opposition from forming a government, it likely delays the formation of a new government until December.

As far as I’m concerned, “click-bait” is a pejorative term.

Tusk has been sworn in as Prime Minister; does not have veto-proof majority; unclear how / if President Duda will use veto.
