Police officers and firefighters: Sidelights of your jobs

I live in Gardena, CA, and once talked for a little while to two Gardena cops when they and I were having lunch in a local diner. Among other things they told me that they got tips on good places to eat from–of all people–persons they had arrested!
Any cops or firemen among the Teeming Millions with tangential anecdotes about their work?

I once picked up a girl while on duty as a ski patroller. We met on the chair lift. It was a bitterly cold day, and she was wearing a full face mask. We chatted during the ride, and then took a few runs together. We broke for lunch, and she took her mask off when we got inside… It turned out to be well worth the wait.

We dated for a bit.

My husband gets a firefighter discount at a lot of places. I get it as well, sometimes even if he’s not there but they know who we are. He also gets to ride transit for free.

He also gets flashed a lot (by women).

You mean they expose themselves to him?
