No kidding. If you went just by the reactions you’d figure Mrs. Obama was mandating vegan-ism and outlawing fast food places. Instead, her campaign is very reasonable and moderate. Every first lady has had a pet cause, but none received even a fraction of the flack Mrs. Obama has gotten over this. It’s ridiculous.
That photo is stunning. I wish I was that “fat”.
Just from looking at his picture, it’s pretty clear why Sensenbrenner would feel threatened by a campaign against obesity.
Last week, I went to see this exhibit at the National Archives, which is all about the role that the government has played in changing the eating habits of Americans throughout our history. Michelle Obama’s cause is certainly nothing new, although in recent years the emphasis has been less on malnutrition and more on obesity.
Good point. Kinda used to be about kids who didn’t have food. (Lived in an area where “poor” kids were allotted two saltine and peanut butter “sandwiches” for their government allotted breakfast + a milk, maybe.) And if they had a lick of sense they’d focus on that. Easier to flat out insult someone though, so why bother?
Since we’re already in IMHO, can I hijack and ask for nominations for “Hottest First Lady Ever”? I think I’d vote Michelle ahead of the famous Jackie Onassis.
So, what you’re saying is: you’re a chubby chaser?
Wouldn’t a chubby chaser be going for President Taft?
I just don’t understand the honorable Senator’s remarks. I know big butts (I even work with a couple), and Michelle Obama’s isn’t.
He’s not a senator. He’s a U.S. representative
Democrats could introduce a bill making it illegal to torture puppies and some Republicans would obect to simply because it was not their idea.
