Recently (probably within the last year), I have been seeing a rather annoying advertising tactic. It started with one company (a Sushi joint) and another one (an ice cream place) has joined them. They must have discovered a loophole in the law that permits political campaign signs to be plastered everywhere which allows them to use these signs for advertising. What they do is have a sign that says “Mitt’s a delicious fish” or “Barack is as cool as a bowl of ice cream” (or something equally inane). They always play both sides of the campaign. They make a point to put the name of the business very clearly on the sign.
I find them very irritating.
Has anyone else seen this (outside of the Phoenix area)?
