Political leanings and geographic mobility

Born here, live here, and I call myself a moderate conservative. I don’t vote based on party lines, and in any case I wouldn’t want to be linked with the actual parties.

The flipside to this is that if you’re an urbanite, the most likely place for you to move, if you do, will probably be another large city, which are comparatively fewer and far between; whereas I imagine a rural person would be more likely to move to a nearby community or else to the regional centre, which would be less far. For example, I imagine it’s more likely for an urbanite to move from Montreal to Vancouver than it is for a rural dweller to move from Saint-Louis-du-Ha! Ha!, Quebec to Spuzzum, BC.
