Politico (website): Left or Right bias?

Subject is my question.

@TreacherousCretin- right or left bias?

According to Ground News, they “Lean Left” (the scale goes Far Left > Left > Lean Left > Center > Lean Right > Right > Far Right).

They also have a “Very High” factuality rating.

They also lean slightly left in two other reviews:

Matches my own experience as an occasional reader, too.

If they have a “Very High” factuality rating, does that mean reality has a “Lean Left” bias?

Stranger

Facts are left-leaning.

There are right leaning and center publications market by Ground News’s sources as “Very High” factuality, too.

It means that the Right is factually wrong to the degree that it’s predictive; if a right winger claims something you don’t even need to know what it is they are claiming to accurately guess that it’s probably false. The fact that they are claiming something is evidence in its own right that the claim is false.

A news site that questions and fact-checks the status quo is going to be “left-leaning” if the status quo of the power structure is toward the right.

Thanks all, my question has been answered. My impression had been Politico is leftish, but I few days ago I stumbled across an absurdly pro-Trump article, moved past it. Afterward I would’ve sworn it was on Politico but at 74 my short-term memory already fails me. (And by then my browser history had been cleared.)

If you check your browser history and search there, you might be able to find it. If it was indeed Politico, it’d be interesting to hear their take on it. Usually it’s a pretty good publication with relatively sober takes on things.

Maybe it was The Hill?

Found it. It was Politico. I don’t think I’ll bother reading it.

Well in either case, it’s going to get destroyed by Trump pretty soon.

That Politico article is not as pro-Trump as it initially sounds. It’s about how consequential Trump has been and how Democrats need to forge a competing vision.
