Poll: Are you, or anyone you know, planning on getting an iPhone?

I am not planning to buy one and know no one who has mentioned that he would. (I may know people who will, but I’m not aware of it.)

  1. No. I have no need for a mobile phone.
  2. No. I have no need for a mobile phone.
  3. No.

No. Mainly because i don’t need a mobile phone, but even if i were in the market for an expensive, multi-function phone, i’d go for a Blackberry or something similar.

Doubtful, for the same reasons as above.

I don’t know anyone planning to get one, and my circle of friends includes quite a few committed Mac users. Most of them think that it’s way too expensive for what you get.

I’m just waiting until they release this.

A) No.
B) Depends upon the plans, if they have a pre-paid one, I will.
C) He denies it, but he’s a Mac geek and drools over video of the phone, so he’ll be getting one.

Out of 24 replies, we have

a) 2 respondents who are planning on getting one now
b) 5 who will very likely get one later on
c) 10 people that the respondents know and who are planning on getting one now.

Of course this is not a scientific survey, but it seems like this product is going to be a big success.

I can’t think of many other products out there where 24 respondents will report a total of 10 people they know who are planning on buying one.

In addition, out of 24 respondents, 7 are planning on buying one now or later on. Again, not sure I can think of many products where we can get such poll results.

Time to buy Apple stock

  1. No
  2. Maybe in 2 years, I’m with T-Mobile so I’d have to wait for my contract to end and see it is worth switching. But by then probably not.
  3. No

According to one survey 2 out of 3 people had heard of the iPhone. Bet no other phone can say that.

Where do you work, and how can I get a job there?

a. No
b. Yes, a couple years down the road (and I’ll be salivating every single day of them)
c. Yes

a) 1000 clams? I don’t think so.Im happy with my huge “Miami Vice” era phone.

b)maybe

c)no

No, no, no, but I’m as far away from the intended audience as you can be without being Sentinelese.

No.
Yes, but they’ll have to go down in price and have a better camera.
No, because they’re so expensive

  1. No.

  2. Yes, once it a) gets 3G and b) my t-mobile contract or my willpower expires, whichever comes first. After seeing the altogether reasonable plan prices, my willpower isn’t doing so well.

  3. I have a friend who’s an early-adopter type who I’m sure will get one.

A. No, I’m a cheap bastard and won’t be paying $500 for a phone, even if it does have a MP3 player and touch screen and camera and bottle opener and corkscrew. (I made those last 2 up.) Plus I’m not interested in a $40+ a month cell phone bill.

B. I may buy a future version of something like that, I see the iPhone paving the way for more, better, and cheaper touch screen devices.

C. Don’t know anyone who’s buying one.

I’d pay good money for a Nokia 8210 updated with modern battery technology, tri-band and bluetooth.
And like a lot of other people, I’m watching the iPhone with interest and might consider picking one up if the European version is bug-free and either a lot cheaper or more feature-loaded.

That’s not a topic of discussion that would ever come up in my day to day life.

a) No, there is neither an Apple Store nor an AT&T store within 50 miles
b) Probably not - I don’t have the need for one and not much of a want for one
c) see a
Brian

Nope.

Probably. I’ll wait 'til the initial bugs and kinks are worked out. I love my Treo, even though it’s getting a little long in the tooth, and the iPhone has a lot to live up to for me. Has anyone heard whether it’s got AGPS?

At least one of my coworkers, and probably several of them.

AFAIK, it doesn’t.

No, no, no.

Way too expensive, way too big, with way too many superfluous functions. I don’t need a media player, camera, portable game console, etc. I need a fucking PHONE.

I need good reception, decent size and long battery life. It would also be nice if it could survive a 10’ drop onto a bare concrete floor (yes, I’ve done this twice. Occupational hazard). Plus I don’t know about anybody else, but i LIKE buttons. Screw touch-screens, I want tactile feedback dammit!
