When I drink, I go all the way- passed out, blacked out, or ran out!
Luckily, I don’t do that anymore…

Usually, I’ll have two drinks – rarely three.
Maybe once a year I’ll go out to a bar with friends and drink to the point of feeling wobbly.
I don’t drink to excess. I’ll drink to anything else, but not to excess!
I haven’t been “impaired” by alcohol in years. I’ll drink until I have a slight buzz, then work on maintaining said buzz for the evening. Getting “drunk” is stupid and counter-productive.
I get freakin’ sloshed. It’s not something I’m proud of per se, but I’m young (23) and am still in that “college” mindset. I know, not everyone in college drinks heavily, but for others, college + drinking go hand in hand. That’s the case here.
On weekends, I’ll drink until I’m on the verge of puking.
I usually can’t drink fast enough to even get a buzz, probably because I don’t like anything that tastes like alcohol. I’ve been buzzed once and ended up more socially inhibited, so there’s no real point to me. I’d rather watch all the drunk people.
Not anymore. Due to health issues my insides won’t hold enough beer to get me drunk - and I don’t like any of the other forms of alcohol.
Never been drunk in my life. Why post? Just as a data point.
I subscribe to Cliff Clavin’s theory:
"Well you see Norm, its like this… A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.
In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm is why you always feel smarter after a few beers."
By all accounts and calculations I am well on my way to being the smartest man alive.
Plus the OP was “Do you get drunk?” not, “Post only if you get drunk.” Yout post was perfectly fine as was the one upthread that someone felt shouldn’t have been posted. Sure, maybe a better answer would’ve been “no,” but was it really worth it to post something against it?
When I do drink, I like to drink to the point of getting wobbly. I’ve found that having a drink or two over the course of an evening in gives me a nasty headache the next day, and I hate being unable to think straight when I have a full-blown hangover.
When I say “wobbly”, I mean that I can notice myself staggering a bit, but can’t notice any slurring of my speech.
I get “drunk” in situations where I can. Like a casino trip, where the car is parked, and my bed is just an elevator ride away from the gaming floor. By “drunk” I mean feeling a pretty good buzz, not in condition to drive, but not staggering/slurring/obnoxious.
I did my share of “commode-hugging-drunk” in college. I’m wiser now.
I know I’m drunk once the alcohol starts tasting really bad. I usually get fucked up from mixed/flavored drinks because they taste good, regardless of how drunk I am. I try avoiding the mixed drinks for the most part so I normally stick to beer and shots (w/o chasers). No Jager please…
I consider a person drunk when they start fights in public or become complete ass-holes/bitches, are puking their brains out, vandalize/damage property, require at least 1 person to help them walk, will not admit they are drunk when it’s obvious, lose their wallet/phone/keys/money etc, are unaware they are barefoot or are missing other articles of clothing, beg you for a ride home, and they no longer want to drink.
I’ve never been drunk. After about a half of a normal drink I start to feel flushed and the feeling doesn’t go away. Very unpleasant.
No. I don’t see the attraction.
I usually have to drink quite a bit to get drunk. When I drink, I don’t normally get drunk, no. I might get a buzz, I might not. Generally, it takes me about 4 beers to feel a light buzz, but on days when I don’t eat a lot, I might get a buzz off the first. Other days, it seems I can’t get drunk no matter how much I imbibe.
I get drunk on the often, probably 3 or so times a week. I drink generally until my speech starts to get a little slurred, but not to the point of stumbling around (although this has been known to happen and almost certainly will again).
Such is the college life, where my roommates and I are constantly pushing each other to drink, drink, drink!
I will posit that if marijuana were legal I would not drink nearly as much.
Yes. Male, 51.
I like to get hammered.
Typically Friday nights, at home, often while alone. When drinking alone at home I like to work around the house- cleaning, laundry, washing the truck etc.
If I get a good buzz going and stop drinking, I get a headache.
Don’t drive drunk anymore.
Yeah, sure.
In public I stay well in control.
At home I’m less likely to stop once I feel the effects, but usually it’s difficult to tell with me. I seem to be completely sober, and the next stage is asleep, or probably more descriptively, passed out. This would be after 10 - 12 beers. I’ll sometimes wake up on the couch at 3:00 A.M., drink a big glass of water and then go to bed.
I cannot remember when I’ve ever been a falling-down-puke-on-your-shoes type of drunk.
male, 44.
I drink regularly, and only to the point of getting a light buzz; say 4-5 beers. Perhaps on a weekend I might stay up later and have a couple more, but that’s usually not the case.
I only very rarely drink anything other than beer; perhaps a handful of times a year. I used to enjoy single malt scotch very, very much. I often ended up drunk when I did so. I don’t like being out of control drunk any more. The next day is much too painful.
When with friends, I get drunk occasionally. My parents have seen me drink, but I don’t think they’ve ever seen me/spoken to me on the phone while drunk, but all my friends have seen it.
I think it is nice to get drunk every now and then, as long as you are not a bad drunk. It helps clear the mind and opens up the real you for all to see. In fact, apparently I was arguing this point with a friend who doesn’t drink less than two weeks ago. I say apparently because, well, I don’t remember it. At all.
