POLL: Do you park your car in the garage

Might be neighborhood specific. I’ve visited some developments where I have to believe parking outside of the garage is discouraged. In my non-HOA neighborhood it’s probably closer to 50-50.

We have a one car garage and two cars. My wife typically parks in the garage. I have the nicer car but prefer parking in the driveway.

2 car, detached garage. We park one car in the driveway and one on the street. Garage is only half full of junk – about half of it is tools, sporting goods and emergency supplies. We do need to get rid of some junk though.

I don’t have a garage. Of my neighbors who have ever left their garage door open so I could see in, 75% have been full of junk and 25% full of car/s.

Two car detached garage.
Unless I am using my car
it is in the garage.

We park both cars in the garage; I back one in so the driver-side doors of both face each other and you get more room to walk between.

This being Florida, though, a huge chunk of the populace uses the garage as a second living room, complete with TV, sofa and fridge–don’t ask me how they keep it cool when the temp is 326 degrees with 657% humidity.

We are fortunate to have a parking under the house. The last place was street parking, but it rains so much here that having covered parking is a necessary.

A buddy of mine lives next door to some serious hoarders. He constantly updates me on their goings-on.

They own one car and have a two car garage totally filled with crap. Their front porch is also filled with crap. Last year they decided to clean up their act. They bought a very used pickup truck and a relative came out and spent a weekend filling yellow bags purchased from a local dump.

They made a dent in the garage problem, filling the pickup as well as two more loads of bags that filled the driveway. When they tried to make the first trip to the dump the truck wouldn’t start. Weather got nasty so they refilled the garage, now with yellow bags, and the truck became another part of the hoarding situation.
