I think that power belongs to the groupies. ![]()
Wear shorts? Sure. Who cares? It’s the music that counts.
Yeah, if you’re thinking about their clothes at the show, they didn’t bring good enough music.
Their haircut is more important than the clothes, and their haircut is completely unimportant.
It’s always ok for the drummer, for other members it depends but it’s generally better to not.
As opposed to, say, ripped jeans, a sequined cone bra, or hats made of plant pots?
I’m wearing all of those right now, and I don’t hear any complaints.
Campaigning for reappointment, are we?
Has Angus Young ever not worn shorts on stage?
I went to a rock concert once, and my friend was upset that the band dressed sloppy. Its rock and roll! I suppose there are some rock musicians that have high sartorial standards, like Eric Clapton, but even he has performed in a Tshirt and jeans at festivals.
You live in Alabama in the summer and wear long pants all the time. I bet your opinion changes.
Not to pick on you, because I don’t like some shorts on adults either, but even something like this?
Yup. Looks like an English schoolboy to my eyes.
He adopted the schoolboy thing around the time Bon Scott joined the band in 1974. Before that he wore a variety of superhero costumes.
And screw you guys. When we get our record deal I’m still going to wear shorts. And flip flops.
Angus Young is the exception, it’s his schtick, and besides…he’s hard-core so nobody would call him out about it. Everybody else, IMHO, looks dorky in shorts. Yup, rock stars do what they want, but “dorky” and “rock star” don’t really go together all that well.
Citing Jimmy Buffett as an example in a thread about rock musicians is pretty weak.
Holy shit. There’s a tumblr for this.
