Blue state
-
Oh my yes
-
Obama all the way
-
Obama with little doubt
-
Hard to say with regard to family. My friends are overwhelmingly for Obama, as is my sister. We avoid politics for the most part in the family, though. As for co-workers, probably 75% or so are for Obama is my guess.
-
Narrowly blue state (WA)
-
Yes, registered
-
Yes, absolutely will vote, for Obama
-
Obama will win the state (the more interesting race is for Governor)
-
Friends: unanimous Obama; co-workers: almost unanimous Obama; family: no idea, I don’t discuss politics with my family.
- Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?
Swing State Florida
- Are you registered to vote?
Yes
- Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?
Yes, Obama
- From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
I really can’t tell I know the I-4 corridor is crucial and I think Obama has a real chance from what I’ve seen here, but in the end I think it will be close with McCain barely edging out Obama.
- From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
My Family is pretty reliable voters almost a 100% of my Mom’s side of the family will vote Obama and almost 100% of my Dad’s side will vote McCain. Most of my friends will actually take the time to vote for the first time from what they’ve told me and they are all for Obama.
1.) Blue State (I live in the red side though)
2.) Yes
3.) Yes, Obama.
4.) Obama
5.) Very low. I would say <10%. Most at work refuse to register to avoid jury duty. Family is 3 Obama (dad, sister, and grandfather), 2 McCain (mother and grandmother). Though I’ve taken enough interest in Obama I may be able to convince my mom to jump the fence this year making it 4-1.
- Blue State (NY)
- Registered.
- Yes, probably Obama. Since votes in NY don’t tend to matter (overwhelmingly blue) I often vote third party to make a statement but I like Obama enough that I will probably just vote for him anyway.
- Obama (overwhelmingly blue) will win NY
- Most of my friends vote democratic so Obama, but my best friend and brother vote conservative so they will likely vote McCain. Most people I know vote, the only one I can think of that doesn’t is my grandmother, who has only voted once in her life, for JFK.
How will this affect your voting? Will you try to reregister in Texas? Send in an absentee ballot? Drive over to Louisiana? Abstain?
-
Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?
I am registered in a very Blue State, voting by absentee ballot. -
Are you registered to vote?
Yep, registered for the year back in January. -
Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?
Yes. Obama. -
From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
Obama, easily. -

Minnesota - Traditionally blue, but being called a swing state this year -
Are you registered to vote?
Yes -
Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?
Yes. Obama. -
From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
Obama, although McCain has had the airwaves all to himself. Obama is not spending any money advertising in the Twin Cities and McCain still can’t close the gap. -
From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
Family 100% Obama - Mrs. Murdoch will cast her vote for the first time ever! Her mom may vote for the first time as well. She has never bothered to vote in the past as she is easily intimidated and tends to think elections are fixed anyway.
Friends 90% Obama I would guess
Coworkers 80-90% Obama (I work at a university)
-
Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?
Illinois. Blue -
Are you registered to vote?
Yup -
Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?
Voting for Obama -
From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
No question, Obama -
From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
I don’t talk to most about it. I’d guess around 50% for my family & probably for Obama. The few co-workers I know about politically are for McCain.
- Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?
Blue
- Are you registered to vote?
Yes
- Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?
Yes. Palin/McCain.
- From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
Obama. California has primarily voted Democratic for years.
- From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
I have made it a point to NOT discuss politics with friends and family - it gets too too heated, and its not worth the fighting. Like Shodan, at a guess, 80% will vote. I would guess roughly fifty-fifty split.
-
Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)? Blue state.
-
Are you registered to vote? Yes.
-
Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom? Yes; Cynthia McKinney.
-
From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state? Barack Obama.
-
From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom? Near 100% projected turnout; about 90% for Obama, 9% for McCain, and 1% for McKinney.
One of the reddest of red states, Idaho. Except for the county I live in, we’re weird here or something. ( )
Yep.
Heck yes. Obama.
It’s Idaho. Any Republican would run with it.
Family? 99% Obama. Friends/coworkers? Probably 90% McCain. The people I work with who are able to vote (lots of international folks around) are very very Republican.

[li]Red state (Texas)[/li][li]Yes[/li][li]Yes, Obama[/li][li]McCain[/li][li]100 % voting, distribution is thus; Family = McCain (75 %), Friends = Obama (25 %), CoWorkers = N/A[/li][/ol]
I’m planning to send in an absentee ballot. If Texas were a swing state, I’d transfer my registration, but since it won’t make a difference I’m not going to bother. I’m a grad student at UT, so I have a valid excuse to vote absentee in Louisiana.
1. Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)? Swing, I guess.
2. Are you registered to vote? Yup.
3. Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom? Yes, for Obama.
4. From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state? I don’t really know. I’m not a Michigander for real, I’ve only been here for a month now. The polls say it’s pretty close. If Ann Arbor were representative of all of Michigan, though, it would be Obama in a landslide.
5. From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom? I expect that everyone I know is going to vote. I’m a grad student in public policy, so pretty much everyone I know is a policy nerd and completely into politics and current events. All of my non-policy friends tend to be pretty active and politically aware. My family are all liberals. Of everyone I associate with, two of my classmates are open Republicans. I expect everyone else to vote for Obama.
- Living overseas, but a resident of Washington DC, as blue as it gets.
- Registered to vote
- If my ballot gets here in time I will vote for Obama.
- Obama will certainly carry DC.
- I expect almost everyone I know to vote. Some of my in-laws might not be voting.
-
Do you live in a Red State, Blue State or Swing State (to date)?
Blue state -
Are you registered to vote?
No -
Do you intend to vote, and if so, for whom?
No. I’m not particularly wild about either candidate. Either is the same to me, messing half of everything up. -
From your vantage point, in your state, who do you think will win in your state?
I presume Obama, since it isn’t a swing state -
From your circle of friends, family and co-workers, what percentage intend to vote this year and for whom?
No idea
