Poll: Right, Left, or Other

I came out as pretty much a neither here-nor-there smack in the middle person.

Economic Left/Right: -.62

Authoritarian/Libertarian: -.51

Ho-hum.

DEFINATELY Other
…I think there is little separation of democrats and republicans these days…they make dates on CNN Crossfire to make the public think they arent really in bed together.

2004 election, however, I will for the first time vote democrat just because i realize that the "other has little chance of getting in office against Bush especially.

Economic Left/Right: -4.50
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -5.31

Pretty much what I expected.

Judging from the responses so far, it seems friedo was right. The political spectrum is bullshit, or at least it’s no longer as relevant as it was.

If more people are finding that neither the liberal nor conservative label fits them, maybe the two party system is losing relevancy as well.

Yep the PS is BS.

I am an upwinger.

Economic Left/Right: -4.50
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -4.26

Not too bad…

Grim

Economic Left/Right: -2.50
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -5.54

Simon Hughes is evidently someone I wouldn’t disagree with much in a political discussion.

During the Thatcher Years, Ken was the leader of the Greater London Council, and a prominent (loud) member of the Labour (socialist) party. The GLC offices were just across the Thames from the Houses of Parliament, and he placed a really big sign on the roof listing the unemployment figures.

Since Labour came to power, he has been just as critical of Tony Blair (well, maybe not quite as critical). He wanted to stand for the Labour party for the newly created office of Mayor of London, but the Labour party did not want him. As a result he stood independently, won the election (becoming the first elected Mayor), and was kicked out of the party. He now opposes many of the Labour policies, including the PPP (public-private-initiative) for the redevelopment of the London Underground (the oldest subway system in the world). This initiative would involve private companies taking over some of the functions of the system such as maintenance, running trains, etc.

Charles Kennedy (circa 2003) is the leader of the Liberal Democrats, a middle-of-the-road political party in the UK.

his site

Looks like I am also Ken Livingstone

Economic Left/Right: -4.75
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -4.36

Left.

Economic -4.88, Authoritarian -1.54. Me and Ghandi. Very interesting site, would like to see how they rate US leaders.

I hate the left more than I hate the right, but not much.

Shows where my mind is…I thought this was a verry different type of Right or Left poll.

I’m a left-handed center-right wing halfback.

On El Gui’s quiz, I am 100% personal self government and 40% economic self government which puts me as a left-liberal closing towards libertarian. I think that poll was a bit skewed though since it seems to be sponsored by libertarians.

And for those that wonder:
neg 4.75
neg 6.21

It also appears that I am around Ken Livingston.

Thank you, johncole for the synopsis.

Okay, go to the left. A liiiiiiittle more. Just a little bit more. Okay. Wait. No…more to the left. All right, perfect.

Took the test
Economic Left/Right: -3.38
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -6.00

Funnily enough I always consider myself somewhat on the right.
(But that is UK right, which I think in USA equates to border-line communist  )

Cheers, Bippy

I don’t believe this poll is sponsored by libertarians, is it? There’s a similar 4-way political spectrum on a 10 question libertarian test somewhere, perhaps you’re getting them mixed up.
