Back on post #31 on page one of the thread. You’re four pages late.
:smack: Sorry, is the thread long enough to allow a repeat of silliness?
Jim
In college, I tried it. I did nothing for me and I couldn’t see the attraction. It makes you stink and bongs are disgusting (if that’s your delivery method).
I also tried “whippets,” which are CO2 (I think) containers which are supposed to be used by chefs for whipping cream canisters. They sold them in “adult novelty” stores, however, and it was no secret that you could get a buzz by inhaling it straight, like you would a helium balloon. I tried it once and my brain got cold and numb. Scared the bejesus out of me and that was the end of my “drug experimentation” phase.
::Gurgle gurgle gurgle:: Mom, you aren’t supposed to be home for hours.
Definitely.
Yep. Junior year of high school was the first time.
A good number of my friends back home are regular users, as well as 80% of the people I work with back home.
Social only. If someone gave me a bag of weed, I wouldn’t be able to roll a joint or break it up and pack a bowl.
Never smoked pot. Have no desire to try.
I made this decision years before I found out that one of my cousins was smoking pot. The man regrets it deeply, even to this day.
Yes, probably about a dozen times back in college (1989-1993). I stopped when I started feeling paranoid and edgy while high. Also, I always hated that burning horseshit smell. Not even tempted to try again.
That’s the way it is around here. Awhile back some coworkers got caught smoking pot in a parking lot and the cops just confiscated it and gave them the five-minute “drugs are bad, mkay?” lecture. This being Oregon, I wouldn’t be surprised if the cops spent the rest of their shift tokin’ up and zoning out to the 'Dead.
I managed to get through high school and college without trying it, but my defenses were breached when I dated a stoner a few years ago. She’d get high with her friends every weekend like clockwork, and she’d feel a little hurt when I didn’t join in.
I hated the stuff – it made me feel ten times more self-conscious and fidgety than I normally am. I could barely carry on a two-second conversation without worrying about saying something wrong – so I usually became, very, very, quiet, and then spent all night worrying if my quietness was offending anybody.
I haven’t touched the stuff since.
Yes, probably a coupla thousand times, I can’t remember.
Yeah, that’s about right.
Probably.
Never tried it.
Never tried it, not even once. Not really tempted, either, for no particular reason, although I’ve been offered it a couple of times. It’s still illegal here (although a minor offense). If I’m going to diminish my consciousness, I go with alcohol.
From 1875 through 1980. It made me quiet & fidgety and gave me panic attacks starting in late 1979. (The music through the headphones sounded fantastic.)
I think it made me kind of lazy.
No, it was 1975 through 1980. preview is my friend…
Smoked it the first time at a party when I was 21, the last time with my cousins when I was 27, I’m now 39. I liked it better than alcohol but generally I can’t stand “altered states”. I never had munchies, paranoia or any major negative effects other than cotton mouth but did so into silliness and silence stages.
The first time I used it I didn’t realize how stoned I was until I was driving home and noticed the stop sign was in the middle of the road, then realized that no, I was driving on the side of the road. I pulled into a closed shopping center and walked around for about two hours to sober up, after which I never again smoked it when I knew I was going to be driving and never again spoke to the friends who let me leave their house in that condition. I’m as conservative as they come when it comes to driving under the influence and am just majorly thankful nothing happened that night.
I’ve been a semi regular smoker. Been in environments where I was tested randomly too. Never been busted, but once I should have been…
Thrice, most recently in October, 1995. Didn’t like it.

Yes.
And I’d do it again.
I don’t know for sure but I’ve heard a bong with ice cubes and a bit of water can fix that right up for you.
If the past means any time more than 24 hours ago, then, yes, I have.
A handful of times. One serious panic attack cured me forever of even wanting to smoke it.
