Poll: Who was your first crush?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carolyn_King

I was 12 or 13 when I saw a picture of her in my local newspaper, in an article about her case to be allowed to play Little League baseball. She lived a state away and I never met her. I kept that paper for awhile and anytime I looked at her picture, I got flushed and had no idea what was happening to me. It wasn’t because she was into baseball (I very much was at the time), there was just something about that picture…

I moved on to girls in my class not long after but she was definitely my first.

Actually I agree with you 100%, and I should have mentioned that I voted “hetero female, first crush male” since the classmate thing wasn’t, you know,* l’amour* and I haven’t had a female crush since.

Hetero Male - First crush was female

Maybe 5 years old? She did grow up to be centerfold model hot, so even at a young age I could recognize visual appeal. Of minor curiosity, as an adult she married a man who shares my first name, which is not a common one.

Hetero-ish female. My first crush was on Jack Wild in H.R. Pufnstuff. In real life, the first crush whose name I still remember is Andrew K. Pretty sure I wasn’t the only girl who felt that way. I didn’t have crushes on other girls, though I was in a relationship with another woman as an adult.

Hetero male. Not sure what the order was, but among my first crushes were a blonde-haired girl named Dana in Kindergarten, Agent 99 on Get Smart, and Ginger on Gilligan’s Island.

Hetero female. First real life crush was Steven H. in second grade. I even wrote “I love Steven H” on a slip of paper, and then tore it into tiny little bits so no one could see it and tease me.

First media crushes? One of the cartoon characters on G-Force, then Dirk Benedict on Battlestar Galactica (and later as Face on A-Team). Luke in the Dukes of Hazard. And Skywalker.

Oh my goodness. Just went back to see what I found so appealing about G-Force. I guess the version of it that came out in the late 70s was called Battle of the Planets. The character I crushed on’s voice I recognized immediately, Casey Kasem! Too funny.
