So I have heard that polyanhydrides are being used for drug delivery systems. Any clue how this works? I have heard about surface erosion and timed release, any science types out there know what this means?
I’ve read that polyanhydrides, in contrast to previous polymers used for drug delivery, are biodegradable, which is why they are preferable.
One method of timed release (I think it’s the most common one) is where the drug slowly “seeps out” of its enclosing polymer matrix.
