Man, the Saturn Sky is even more beautiful. It looks a bit like a toned-down Lotus Elise.

I hate to admit it but I’m really impressed by this Saturn. Is it F or R wheel drive? The power output seems to be equally annemic at 170hp from a 2.4L, 4 cyl engine.

I suppose that the Lotus Elise is their target competition along with the Miata. Still, more power seems the only thing really missing from both the Sky and Solstice.

I’m test driving both as soon as I can. :slight_smile:

I think your Miata numbers are off. Per Automobile magazine, the MX5 weight has been at about 2500 pounds for a while now. And the 2006 model makes 170 hp, so the power to weight is about 14 or 15 pounds per hp.

Both the Sky and the Solstice are nice looking cars, but I’ve got a creepy feeling that the Solstice is a Cavalier wearing a nicer looking body (and the rear wheel drive modification.) The Sky is probably in a similar disguise.

If the drive train could handle it, and the breaks and suspension were worthy, then they simply scream to be turbocharged.
