Poor Anita Ekberg! Her Vida is not Dolce.

A friend just sent me this link:

She (Anita Eberg, that is, not my friend) is in a nursing home with a broken leg, is “penniless,” and “she hit hard times after a break-in at her home near Rome, where thieves took all her jewellery and furniture and the house was later damaged by fire.” Jiminy crickets, it’s like a Dickens rewrite of Sunset Boulevard!

I interviewed her once back in the '90s, she was sweet.

It’s so sad.

What is written in this article about the Fellini foundation is true also, they’re virtually penniless. My stepgranddaughter was in Rimini a few months ago, doing a documentary short on Fellini (long story there), and she was told that the foundation didn’t have any money and, with the financial situation in Italy, they weren’t likely to get any state help to help commemorate the 20th anniversary of his death.
