Popcorn and the Electric Chair

Overheard this scenario last year in anatomy, and had been curious-
Basically an inmate on death row, hoards and then consumes a massive quantity of unpopped kernals of popcorn, he fills up his belly with the stuff, and doesn’t use the restroom or anything like that to ensure maximum filling throughout his system w/ unpopped corn. He is then taken to the electric chair and strapped in, and basically rides the lightning with the electricity surging through his body.
**What happens next?
**

Is it possible for his body to become heated up enough from the electrical currents running through that the popcorn will start popping in his body?
Would he have a slow popping or would it be a massive surge of popped corn basically coming out of him? Would the popcorn cause internal damaging if they filled him up? Would the witness just start hearing ominous popping noises, but then nothing happens?

Is it even possible to pop corn in this manner?

Any thoughts or details on the plausibility of this scenario, or improving it to become workable would be appreciated. Gracias.

Probably, the guy’d be very dead with a belly full of unpopped kernels.

Body temp during an execution approaches 150°, but popcorn needs 350- to 450-degrees before it’ll pop.

Now, if you could increase the internal pressure of the victim/popping apparatus, then maybe…

Beside the fact the body wouldn’t get to the above heat, it requires a narrow range of moisture content to pop. As soon as it’s in the stomach the hull starts dissolving and softening while the internal moisture content of the corn would change.

It’s also nearly impossible to pop a kernel of corn in less than a couple minutes. They don’t run juice through a person for all that long when executing them.

(Note that while I’m confident that both of these items are correct, I’m not sure what the actual time values are.)

Thanks guys. Mystery solved.
