I do have to admire the Pontiff. He kept up his job, even shaking hands with people until after what I would think prudent, and delivering prayers in public, even though they had to effectively close St. Peter’s Square.

I’d seen TV images of him in his balcony in front of the deserted gateway, but these pictures of his, illuminated in his white robe on a dark and empty stage make him look like a lonely St. Christopher statue on a dashboard. I want to buy him a wiggling hula girl to keep him company. Or maybe one of those solar cell-powered waving Queen Elizabeths. Or at least a bobble-head baseball player.
