Yahoo had an article this morning titled: Pope in grave condition.
I guess he is now.
I guess you can eliminate the last word in that headline.
It’s probably true, but every site I have looked at says that this report is not confirmed.
If it is, rescat in pace, JPII.
Right now it says ‘Pope reportedly dead’ and it hasn’t been confirmed by the vatican.
What is weird is my mom said that she had a feeling that right after Schiavo died that the pope would die too. This was back when he was ‘just’ suffering from pneumonia and had a tube in his neck.
It must be, 'cuz The Drudge Report says so.
MSNBC is reporting that he has “lost consciousness.”
ABC is saying that he is “running out of steam” while Fox is reporting that he’s died.
I’m not a Catholic, but I wish him well on his journey. He worked long at a hard job.
My sympathies to Catholics everywhere and indeed anyone that admired him, and there were more than a few.
I’d heard on the news this morning that he was aware of his situation and very serene in his demeanor. Interesting to consider what his thoughts must have been.
CNN.com: Vatican: Pope’s condition ‘has worsened’
Ya think?
Now I have “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer” running through my head.
I’m sorry. Everything I’ve read about John Paul II indicates he was a good man. RIP.
Give it a few more days. The body is still warm.
Geez. I’ve been checking the Beeb, the Ceeb, Yahoo, CNN, everywhere for updates…
What will happen next if the Pope dies?
My Mom is 83 and in poor health and has had some horrible setbacks lately—so when the Pope had a tracheotomy and a nasal-gastric tube (awful!) and a bladder infection, I felt badly for him, despite all the horrible things he has said about me, my family and my friends for the past 25 years.
Did he have any family or friends around him? I mean, I know he didn’t have a wife and kids (though Popes in the past have . . .), but nieces or nephews or friends, or was he entirely surrounded by employees and syncophants?
Next will be a state funeral, followed by the college of Cardinals meeting in a marathon closed door session that doesn’t break until a new Pope is selected.
Get a new pope?
I’d like to think:
a) We’ve got Ferrari, Lambourghini and Mazaratti, but what did they stick me with? The damned Pope Mobile!
b) Finally, no more people screaming in my windows while I’m trying to sleep.
c) Holy crap! What if the Jews were right?!
As of right now he has not been declared dead by the vatican. One source now says the story of his death was erronious. This reminds me of Arraft’s death in that so many agencies kept prematurely declaring him dead to get the scoop.
Still it looks like he may not make it through the day. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t officially announce it with in the hour. My condolences to our Catholic friends.
According to the reporter on CNN, the Pope is showing no signs of brain activity on an EEG.

As a Catholic, I’m certainly sorry to see him go, but if the reports are true, I’m glad his suffering is over.
Rest in peace.
I cum Deus (pron: ee coom day-oos), go with God.
Yes I know it looks dirty, but it isn’t.
