Pornography and E-mail - Tech question

Scenario :

1.I have sometimes accessed my hotmail account using a neighbour’s PC.
I NEVER use his PC for salacious reasons , only for mailing a certain file type.

2.My neighbour NEVER uses hotmail , but has a separate e-mail service provider.

3.I have NEVER given out my neighbour’s e-mail address.

4.Despite this , he theorises that my use of hotmail on his PC ,
is the reason he gets pornographic spam in HIS e-mail.
Most of this spam is sent by people using hotmail.

I like the guy , but I am convinced there is no correlation between my use of his PC and his getting porno spam in his e-mail.

Anyone disagree / agree ??

Thanks for your help , esp.to any tech-heads who can settle this one.

Probably not related. People use Hotmail because it’s easy to get accounts.

Eventhough using web-based e-mail like Hotmail does record your actual IP address into the message header, it is extremely unlikely that using said web-based e-mail account would cause a different e-mail account to get spam.
