Possible replacements for Powell

Really? Has anyone in recent history, other than a general, successfully run for the president without EVER having held elected office? I can see her as #2 on the ticket, but not at the top.

Done!

Ummm…I’d like to change my vote.

Time was being National Security Advisor during the biggest breach of national security in the last 50 years and then championing an expensive war that would leave half the world alienated and turn out to be based on mistaken intelligence would not get you a promotion.

Perhap, if in her new position, she manages to start a cold war with China and N. Korea nukes Souel, Rice will be appointed VP.

Heaven forbid that Condi ever run for office. I find her lacking in charisma and, by marching in lockstep with her beloved Bush, to be lacking in integrity. I cannot see her giving inspired stump speeches. Given four more years as Bush’s toady, she will be stained by the ongoing Iraqi train wreck. After 1/20/09, she’ll fade into well-deserved oblivion.

Wasn’t it Rice that by mistake called Bush her husband ?

She is the number one “yes sayer”… congrats to her… and God save the rest of us.

forgot to add: Putting Rice for this position to me is a clear lack of willingness to be more diplomatic and multilateral in the second term.

Didn’t you hear about the resounding mandate they got?

My guess is he only thinks of fellow neocon ideologues, and isn’t even concerned that their policies have failed so dramatically.

No. And that’s partly why Sam’s speculation is just more RW-blog fantasizing. The other part is that she has indeed been directly responsible for the aforesaid spectacular failures, and can’t even nearly defend them on the talk shows much less the campaign circuit without that tone of desperation.

“The first female and black American president, Condoleezza Rice…”

“President Rice…”

shudders

I think I’m going to vomit.
