Post a pangram, like "The quick brown fox jumps over the fat lazy dog."

Rules:

  1. It must be original.
  2. It must contain all 26 letters of the English alphabet.
  3. It must make sense (at least syntactically.)

Bonus points if you can come up with one that’s exactly 26 letters.

Here’s mine: Jung’s quiet zobo Felix loved a milky wet Cheerio.

Yes, “zobo” is a word.

A pox upon you, Jurgens, you old beanbag – you’ve squashed my favorite zwieback!

OK, it’s not original. It’s from a book I read many years ago that had a chapter on this subject. But it has stuck with me all these years, and I do love it so.

I’m not sure it’s possible to get a(nother) 26-letter one. The only one I’ve ever seen that makes any sense was “Mr. Jock, TV quiz Ph.D., bags few lynx.” Everything else used Welsh words and other nonsense.

The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog–that whore.

Jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz.

D.V. Pike flung J. Q. Schwartz my box.
Not original with me – I remember it from an old Ripley’s Believe it or Not. He had one or two more like it. But it uses initials and names, which makes it non-kosher to most people. But I don’t think it’s possible to hiy 26 without either using really weird words, or initials, or else abbreviations.

Another one (longer than 26) from Ripley;'s was

Jackdaws love my big sphynx of quartz.

That one’s not original. You’re fired.

Not original, but I remember learning the standard French one at the Alliance Française and noticing that it was just as nonsensical as the English ones:

As for English ones, I’ve always rather liked:

At least it doesn’t seem quite so contrived as some of the others.
