Posting as a poster, or a moderator, or a spokes-moderator?

I rise to a point of order.

When this thread was closed, Colibri wrote that Engineer_Comp_Geek had provided the moderators’ answer in post 49. Here is the part that Colibri quoted.

When ECG speaks of why he did not moderate the thread, and uses the phrase “you are going to have a hard time convincing me” it makes it sound like his personal opinion, either as a poster or as a moderator, or as both. There is zero indication that he is speaking for the moderators as a group.

It was not a very nice way to close the thread, Colibri. You might have said “the moderating staff stands by ECG’s post #49” and then quoted it, without implying that later posters were at fault for having missed it.

p.s. I did not say that TubaDiva had to be the one coming back with the decision, just that something should be posted. I too prefer not to be mis-quoted or mis-attributed.

engineer_comp_geek was the moderator of the forum concerned, as well as the primary ATMB moderator. He posted after TubaDiva did, so it really should have been clear that that was the position. If it were not, then the thread in question would have been moderated.

Moderator Instructions

You said you accepted the moderators’ decision. It appears to me that you are using any excuse to keep the discussion going. I’m instructing you to drop the subject with regard to that thread, or any comments within it. Do not open another thread about that thread.
