Postulation of a post-industrialized state

I have a term paper to write for my sociocultural anthropology class. One of the topics of the class is sociocultural evolution. The types of systems delineated are band, tribe, chiefdom, non-industrialized state and industrialized state. For my paper, I would like to postulate about the next stage in sociocultural evolution; however, I have found no sources of information by accredited anthropologists. Could anyone direct me to references regarding such theories? Bear in mind, I am not looking to write a political science paper in the vein of marxist philosophy, but rather create my own hypothesis and critique others through an analysis of the ecological base.

Next state of sociocultural evolution will be Pre-late-post-modernism, charcterised by palm-held computers, those “whazuuup” guys and the ascendancy of Richard Simmons

Aside from the fact that they are creepy, I highly doubt that the “whazzup guys” or Richard Simmons could be deemed to be accredited sources of information regarding sociocultural evolution.
