Hey! I found the SDMB because of aspartame causing cancer. Dont knock kooks.
All of you are aware, I hope, that the dark brown/black spots you see on some potato chips are in fact, potato chip cancer. Left unchecked, they’ll spread over the whole chip and eventually take over the entire bag.
Eat the whole bag as soon as possible, but never never eat the dark brown/black spots, or you’ll turn out like that Stephen King character who drank the bad can of beer. :smack::eek:
I don’t know about that, but “Hippy Industry” is a bit oxymoronic.
I think we are missing the greater subtext here. This is a brilliant legal strategy.
“The plaintiff asserts that despite taking the recommended dose of Astaxanthin, she still developed cancer. What do you have to say to that Dr. Mercola?”
“I specifically tell my patients to avoid eating things that contain food. I can’t be blamed for her irresposnibility!”
Not if they’re talking about weight loss…
The raw food nutz dont seem to know nutrition of many foods is not fully available unless they are cooked. For example the antioxidant properties of tomatoes are not released unless they are cooked.
To be totally fair to him, at the bottom he does say that part of healthy eating is stop eating crisps, chips, soda and doughnuts. But not because they are full of fat and sugar, no. Because they are cooked.
I don’t know if everyone gets the same “related articles” at the bottom, but I got this wonderful piece of alarmism. So that’s nice.
Pringles causes cancer?!? NO! OH GOD, NO!!
I once knew a news photographer who told me in all seriousness: “I’ve been to deepest, darkest Africa, and they’ve got Pringles.” It’s like the modern-day Coca-Cola in terms of worldwide saturation. So I would assume you could do some sort of study on cancer rates?
