Long story short: My wife’s cousin, living in Hawaii, got her car towed for parking incorrectly. The towing company will not return her car to her, because the car is titled in my wife’s name. They want a notarized power of attorney from my wife authorizing her cousin to retrieve the car. We’re not exactly sure what that entails. Do we just type up a page that says “I, SaniWife, hereby authorize SaniWife’sCousin to retrieve the 2006 Ford Fusion titled in SaniWife’s name” and take it to the bank tomorrow morning to get it notarized? And I assume you can’t fax a notarized document, so we’ll have to overnight it to Hawaii, right?
