That’s true, and I suspect that if we’re in a scenario where neither Obama nor Biden is inaugurated, collecting from Bricker is going to be the least of my worries.
Bricker has been unfailingly honest in paying off wagers. He may be many things, but he is not a welsher.

Technically true, and Bricker clearly could wait until then to do so if he chooses.
However, I suspect the “Inauguration Day” clause was inserted simply to create a specific definition of who won, and avoid the inevitible arguments over who “won” if the election turned out like it did in 2000.
Bricker might be an insufferable ass about some things, but there’s one thing I will say about him that I’ve always appreciated and, yes, admired: he IS a man of his word… and that’s something you can’t hold against him.
We may disagree on a hell of a lot of stuff, but at least we’ll always have Sondheim 
I just want to say that I got a lot of support for my about-to-be-lost civil rights from Bricker in another thread, and he was exceptionally understanding about me blowing up at him in my emotional state.
Oh, and he also bet me $1500 Elizabeth Dole would be reelected.
