One of the items on my “bucket list” is driving through a desert to see a sunrise or sunset. In March, the Philadelphia Soul of the AFL is playing the Arizona Rattlers in Phoenix and this seems like a great chance to cross something off my list.
I am flying out to Phoenix on 3/13/14 where I will be staying until 3/17/14. On the 17th I want to be in the desert between AZ and CA during sundown since I won’t be going in the right direction for a sunrise.
I’m staying in the LA area from 3/17/14 to 3/20/14 when I am flying back.
I need suggestions where to stay in Phoenix and LA. Anything interesting I should see on the drive from AZ to CA and any places I should avoid.
