What I’d like to see would be a sort of Federation Intelligence show. One where a secret agent would roam around the Federation and solve problems, uncover alien and other conspiracies, and so on.
But not James Bond in space. I’d lean into the storytelling of how he learns his job and have him fuck up fairly often. Character development and all that.
This way it could be very open ended - have the person have been in Starfleet, so you could have shipboard arcs, have them be a “rogue trader” sort for others, and so on. Gives opportunity to flesh out a lot of the Federation worlds and how the people live, as well as the phaser porn everyone likes. Plus a Federation equivalent of Q branch could be fun.

the best we can possibly hope for right now is some Taylor Sheridan Trek. If we’re lucky he’ll make it a military thriller and leave current-day politics out of it. If not, we’ll be watching the voyages of the USS Donald J. Trump. There will be plenty of L but no GBT. Just so we are clear, this is not what I want, just what I think is going to happen.
