pregnancy

It’s probably too late to ask this question if you’ve already taken the Ambien, but have you ever taken Ambien before? It can have some weird effects on some people. In fact, I’m surprised that would be given for fear of its effect on the baby!

My own experience is that on the few occasions I took that, it was as if the next 8+ hours simply disappeared.

Does anyone know what would happen if April R went into really active labor while under the influence of Ambien?

Given what I’ve heard about hallucinations, Celeste would have the weirdest birth story ever?

Hope all is well today AprilR!

The ambien did not keep me asleep. The contractions just woke me up. Owowow

Ooooooooh!!!

I am in active labor. The contractions haven’t let up for a day and a half now. I went to L and D yesterday and they checked me. Still not more than 1Cm dilated but the contractions are consistently every 3-5 min. They sent me home on ambien. I slept until 2am (about 3hours) then got up from contractions. Then went back to sleep from 3-7. I am now getting the twins ready and off to daycare and then to my OB. I am hoping I am more dilated than I was yesterday or I may cry. I am in so much pain and so uncomfortable.

I’ve been wrong before, but I bet (again) that today’s the day, especially since we haven’t heard from April R for nearly 3 hours now.

Positive thoughts coming your way April! Hang in there.

Good luck, April! I hope everything goes well and that you will be a formerly pregnant lady in a very short time!

Quick update, just got done with my OB appointment and I am 50 percent effaced and 2 centimeters dilated already so she said if it keeps progressing it will be within the next day or so. If not for any reason I am scheduled for a induction on Wednesday the 5th, but hopefully I won’t have to do that and she will be here before then! I’ve been really appreciative of the support that I’ve gotten in the thread. You guys are awesome and thank you so much!

Thinking of you today, sending soothing thoughts your way!

Good news! If nothing else, 50% effaced and 2cm dilated means that an induction isn’t so terrible (it means your cervix is “ripe” - what they were waiting for a week or so ago.) Still, I do hope you avoid an induction, for many personal and medical reasons.

C’mon, pumpkin! Come out, come out! You’ve got lots of people ready to give you snuggles and kisses!

she stripped my membranes at my visit today. Holy Crap…
TMI it looked like I was having my period when I got home, yuck

Chants “Ba-by, ba-by, ba-by” westward

Apri****l, would you be able to live-post the birth in this thread, typing all the details as they happen? (On second thought, I think you’ll be too busy. )

In all seriousness, though, I’ve been following your pregnancy here on the board, and I’ll be excited to hear more about it as time and updates go on. Best of luck!

Apelet all your doper aunts and uncles are anxious to meet you!

It’s been close to a day since she posted. Do you think???

still hanging in there. Labor has stalled. I have an induction scheduled for Wednesday if she doesn’t come before then. :frowning: I am so anxious and uncomfortable and my kidlets are driving me crazy. I kept them home today just in case, and I am regretting that decision

So this would be worst weekend for little Apelet to be born

Oh April, calm down hon. You know the weather service just likes to drama-monger. You are NOT going to be in labor in the middle of a tornado! Everything is going to be JUST FINE.
