Ow!

Ow!
2-1
Brazil was robbed there.
Boy did we get lucky… I think that was a goal.
edit]On replay, no longer think. That was in by a foot.
I think so too, but there is no replay review in soccer.
Since I’m watching, and I’m for the USA, USA will lose.
The teams I’m for nearly always lose.
It’s true. That was a goal.
Hopefully we can get another goal and win by at least 2. Of course, just winning would be great, but I hate to have this one tainted if we do pull it out by only winning by 1. Then it can be argued it should have been a tie, etc.
Dempsey sure can’t dribble, but man… can he shoot!
Oh well, Brazil did deserve it.
USA 2 - Brazil 2
If the US wins, it’ll be Davies.
I’m not sure the first thing that bounced around in the US goal area was in. And definitely not enough to overturn by American Football video review standards. the AR said it wasn’t in, so I’ll go with that. No good camera angle.
And they did a good job of burying their second chance of those.
Brazil’s got it.
This is one of the most massive choke jobs I have ever seen. Giving up 3 (really 4) goals in the 40 min after going up 2 to 0. Good for Brazil.
beautiful corner
Well, <sigh> naivete will show. Obviously, Brazil decided at half-time they really wanted to win. We got too tentative, and forgot that you can play the ball to the wing to score.
Still, good job for our guys and we can feel good about the overall result.
A camera on the line would show that ball was all the way over. I have no doubt about it. But you are right, the camera angles given don’t show it clearly.
Video replay with goal-line cameras is inevitable.
Oh, one more truism: Sasha Kljestan doesn’t know what to do with a ball at his feet.
You’ve got to be trolling.
Giving up 3 to a massively favored and more skilled team is not a choke job let alone one of the most massive ones.
The US missed Bradley a ton. Kljestan cannot play at this level. Absolutely no depth at forward (the starting two aren’t very good either) and none at midfield (since Adu and Torres never play) are going to be a theme I think.
The US didn’t choke. They actually over-achieved. Brazil easally had at least 4 goals in them. They just happened to all come in the 2nd half. Tough loss, but for the most part, a very strong showing by the US. Things may be finally looking up. They are playing international-level football now. Really for the first time. I’m proud of them finally.
Nice start, really poor choices on the subs by Bradley. USA had to be wary of that early goal, that’s exactly what should have been preached against at half-time: don’t let them think that they’re back in this. In the end the better team won. Sure would have loved to see Adu in for Altidore, Torres in for Feilhaber and anybody besides Conor Casey in for Demspey. And about 5 minutes earlier.
It was big not to have Bradley available. I thought Feilhaber was tremendous and both goals from USA were well earned. Too much sitting back in the second half and waiting for Brazil to come to us.
