Rather small and niche tournament, but figured I’d start a thread anyway:
The United States and Venezuela just advanced out of Group A (which was held in Mexico) and are headed to Tokyo for the Super Round, which will determine which teams go to the gold-medal and bronze-medal games. Their games started much sooner in order to let them overcome jet lag.
Meanwhile, Group B is underway in Japan and Taiwan. Japan is at the top of the group and near-guaranteed to advance (3-0 undefeated record right now,) but South Korea, Australia, Taiwan and Cuba are duking it out over the next two days to see who snags that final lone berth. Dominican Republic has been eliminated.
