He has no choice. He needs the 30% crazy demographic. Can’t win without them. Has to keep them on board while trying to figure out how to get the center swing vote as well. Tricky balancing act.
Meanwhile, the proxy attack dogs will be suppressing the vote at the other end and trying to disillusion the same center so the swing won’t count as much. Fun for everybody!
It sure worked in 2004, didn’t it? I mean, Bush’s policies were thoroughly discredited and failed to anyone who’d bothered to pay attention by November 2004; that was, if anything, just after the nadir of the Iraq fiasco.
According to most polls, McCain’s neck and neck with Obama. He doesn’t have to win over Obama voters, he just has to get out enough of the vote from folks who don’t trust them cullured Muzlims.
He’s neck and neck with a candidate who’s still in the middle of a relatively close (in general terms) primary contest (and thus is splitting polling votes with Clinton)? A black man? With an Arabic name?
McCain’s toast once the Dem primary shakes out and the party forms up behind Obama. He should be miles ahead in every state, if only because there IS no actual official Democratic nominee yet.
Yeah, like when Ariel Sharon “managed to offend the United States by comparing its urgent search for support in the Arab world to the appeasement of Hitler over Czechoslovakia”. (Cite.) Ironic, innit.
