President Reagan in final hours?

I tuned into CNN Headline News. After the moving tribute to Ronald Reagan, a smiling Asian woman said, “Do you want to know the secret of happieness? [We’ll tell you after the break.]” Ah, the disconnection of newsies!

The CNN report said that Iran-Contra was the most serious problem of the Reagan presidency. Looking at the current administration, I can only wish for such problems. I made fun of Reagan when he was President. I called him “Ray-Gun” (for his “Star Wars” initiative) and “Slay-Gun” (because I felt he might be too eager to go to war against the Soviets).

Well; goodbye, Mr. Reagan. You scared me when you were President; but the economy did recover, and the Cold War ended on your watch. Requiescat in pace.

Wow. Just wow.

I’m more taken aback than sad, though.

God Speed, Mr. President.

I thought Reagan was an absolutely terrible president, but probably a pretty decent human being.

I’m sorry to hear of his death, although it may have come as a relief after his long downhill slide with Alzheimer’s, that was cruel to all around him.

Rest in peace, Ronnie.

  1. That’s a pretty good run. Having taken on the stresses of the Office, getting shot, and dying with Alzheimers. That’s a good run.

First Mr. Nixon, and now Mr. Reagan. Thank you for your service to this Country, Gentlemen. :frowning:
