I don’t click on video links because I’m usually not in a situation where I can watch them. Right at the moment, for example, I’m in a public park surrounded by other families and loud music.

The link to the video is** the content of my post.
It’s a video of Nixon describing a TV show which he says “glorifies homosexuality,” and how that type of programming shouldn’t be on TV. He also goes on a rant about the “leftists” and “communists” benefit from the media glorifying homosexuality.
P.S. Don’t tell me who I may and may not argue with.
Thank you. Let’s finally move on with the thread, then. That goes for everybody.
I refer you to the rules of this site, which say arguments and complaints about moderating go in About This Message Board and no other forum. Moving on…
My apologies. I lost my cool here.
I can access the video (on my desktop computer, even if not on my phone). Thing is, if there is a text-based alternative, I prefer to look for that first. For various reasons, I don’t really like playing videos with the sound on, so I try to avoid it if I can.
Or even “Nixon was surprisingly open-minded toward homosexuality and the homosexual community.”
Why the hell should anyone waste time watching a video which could be a commentary, a cartoon, a Saturday Night sketch, or dogs fucking if you can’t take one moment to present the premise of the OP?
He’s explained it now, so let’s move along and get the thread started properly. If anyone wants to criticize the way ILikeForeignLanguage phrased his OP rather than the substance of what Nixon said, take it to the Pit.
Fair enough, I responded before reading the whole thread which I admit is never a good idea.
Or perhaps “Nixon was even less hep to pop culture than you suspected.” (Judging from his reference to the era’s #1 TV program, “All in the Family” as “Archie’s Guys.”)
PS: Any particular reason for this being in Elections? It’s not like Tricky Dick’s running for office any more.
To use a common catchphrase in this Board, this is the break the McGovern campaign has been looking for…
I’ve got to stand behind Chronos’ first post and Fuzzy_wuzzy. We already knew he was a colossal putz AND a reactionary in the culture wars, never mind the “old, dead guy” factor (42fish has a point).
This could be just the break the McGovern campaign is waiting for!
How is this likely to affect the McGovern campaign?
That’s what everyone thought in 1962, to. Then look what happened!
Meme fail. I’m just not sure who blew it.
What does the constitution say about zombies?
Or Nixon though that two actors portraying homosexuals were magnificent looking.
His words:
The Bohemian Grove, which I attend from time to time — it is the most faggy goddamned thing you could ever imagine, with that San Francisco crowd. I can’t shake hands with anybody from San Francisco. Decorators. They got to do something. But we don’t have to glorify it. You know one of the reasons fashions have made women look so terrible is because the goddamned designers hate women. Designers taking it out on the women. Now they’re trying to get some more sexy things coming on again.
The Bohemian Grove is of course a meeting of conservative-ish rich men who spend a weekend doing quasi-homoerotic things. And nutters like Alex Jones think they sacrifice babies or something. But I too am shocked that our Greatest President™ had homophobic and sexist opinions!
for those interested if you haven’t seen the documentary Nixon by Nixon or it may be titled Nixon on Nixon worth a watch. He talks about gays, Jews and a few others.
