Presidential endorsements

Update: Specter (and former governor/Homeland Security head Tom Ridge) appeared onstage at a McCain rally in suburban Philly today.

Speaking of the Maverick family, here’s a video of Fontaine Maverick talking about McCain using the word.

She was never a porn star, quasi or otherwise. She became a stripper for a while out of part curiousity and part rebellion. She went on to write a book about her experiences. She then went on to write the screenplay of a popular, Oscar-nominated film. She then went on to win an Academy Award for that popular, Oscar-nominated film. Whether you like Juno or not, you’re doing a disservice to an interesting, accomplished person.

But then, you knew that, right?
ETA: We can now add Dick Cheney to the list of people who endorse McCain.

Btw, thanks for the list. It’s an interesting read. I was surprised and pleased to see these unexpected endorsements for Obama:

  • Julie Nixon Eisenhower, daughter of Richard Nixon and wife of grandson of Dwight D. Eisenhower[855]
  • Susan Eisenhower, granddaughter of former president Dwight D. Eisenhower[856]
  • CC Goldwater, granddaughter of former Republican presidential nominee Barry Goldwater[857]
  • Kathleen Hensley Portalski, half-sister of John McCain’s wife, Cindy Hensley McCain[858]

laugh Understatement!

I must admit at some disappointment from a few of the McCain entertainers. I just won’t be able to think of these people in the same way. It’s like finding out an actor I like is a $cientologist. I may still enjoy some of their work, but in the back of my mind is the thought that they’re batshit insane. María Conchita Alonso? Janine Turner? Nooooo, say it’s not true. I was delighted to see Marilyn Manson on the list. I wonder why McCain isn’t touting up that endorsement to bring in some of the young folk. :stuck_out_tongue:

And I notice that McCain’s page has its own Porn Star section.

What’s your take on what I’m assuming is an endorsement? ISTM that being late in the game he wouldn’t have come out for a loser, at least a loser in his home state, and absolutely in his home town. Mebbe a placation to the RINO accusers?
McCain/Ridge coulda shoulda woulda

Dennis Hopper is a long time Republican, and though I’d heard that this time he endorsed Obama, it was interesting to hear him explain himself on The View.

I would imagine that Hasslewhatever was absolutely fuming.

Former Senator John Glenn (D-OH) probably should be on Obama’s list: he attended the Obama rally in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday.

This.

Also,

… cracks my shit up. I’m sure McCain’s proud of this development.

I’m going to be knocking back some seriously happy whiskey if Texas goes blue.

Heck, if we have a margin in the middle to low single digits, I’m going to be breaking out the Shiner.

I noticed that, too, and found it enormously entertaining. Kind of the ultimate WTF??? moment, there.
