Presidential March Madness, the Final Round

It’s down to two. Contestants and, in the case of the last round, voters.

Pick one choice in each match-up (based on whatever criteria you want). Winner takes all. You can cast your votes for until Tuesday at 11:00 pm (EST).

Franklin D. Roosevelt vs
Barry Goldwater

Wow, what a clusterfuck of a final match.

If FDR (My vote) isn’t unanimous, I’ll be amazed…

Joe

Sorry I missed the last round, as I’d have voted for Eisenhower. As it is, I gotta go with the only finalist who actually served as President of the United States…

Franklin D. Roosevelt vs
Barry Goldwater

Sorry – with all the foofooraw around here of late, I apparently missed a couple of rounds.

FDR.

I also seem to have missed some rounds, I’ll have to go back and figure out exactly how it came down to this odd pairing, but what the heck…

Barry Goldwater

Funny, because I consider him to be one of the worst Presidents, but not many people seem to agree with me on that so, I would be surprised to see him lose.

Musta been a coin toss; it looks like only two of us voted in the last round, with JFK and FDR tied at one each.

This is actually hard; as a lifelong Democrat I have to go with FDR, but I’m old enough to remember AuH[sub]2[/sub]0 and have a certain nostalgic attachment to the old buzzard.

Oh well, FDR.

FDR won election to the Presidency an unprecedented and never-to-be-repeated four times.

Goldwater? Not so much.

It’s FDR.

One of the lesser known rules of Madness threads is that I cast a vote if it’s necessary to break a tie.

The results are in. The people have spoken. Well, six people anyway. And by a 5-1 decision, the winner of the Presidential March Madness is
Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Rats. The winner still should’ve been George Washington.
