I’m looking at my sample ballot for the March 17 primary election (Illinois) and (after noticing how many no-longer-candidates are still listed, including Booker and Bennet ) notice that not all the candidates in the “President, U.S.” race have designated delegates in the “Delegate to National Nominating Convention, ___ Congressional District” race. Specifically, only Biden, Sanders, and Warren have the full number in this “vote for 5” race, Buttigieg has four, Klobuchar has three, Yang has two, and Bloomberg has none at all.
So what does that mean?
*Does the race actually marked “President” decide everything, statewide and district delegates?
*Or does “President” decide who gets the statewide delegates, while the other race decides who gets delegates from my Congressional district? Which would mean that, for example, Bloomberg could never get any district delegates from my district no matter how well he does in the labeled “President” race. :dubious:
I presume a person could vote for (for instance) Sanders for “President” but Biden’s slate of delegates for the district if he/she perversely chose to?
