It’s almost Xmas, and we can’t get a decent cuppa joe, much less a latte here in Mayberry North. We got used to great coffee in Vancouver, and I’d love to set up Imp of the Perverse with a home setup. I’m looking at the Presso, which has dynamite reviews, but I’d also like to hear from any dopers who own or have used one.
I’ve never used it myself, but I’ve heard mostly good things about it. Some people love it, but I’ve heard it can be difficult to get a perfect espresso out of it without doing some modifications to it. The reviews from the people at Coffee Geek are generally favorable, though. And those guys can be pretty tough!
I have my eye on the mypressi Twist, personally, and it’s in the same price range, so you might want to consider it too. The only downside to it is you have to keep purchasing the NO2 cartridges (supposedly you get 8 single shots per cartridge).
Why on earth is it not for sale on Catalina island?
I noticed that too! No idea. I know they restrict the number of cars on the island. I didn’t realize that extended to handheld espresso makers too! I’m sure it has something to do with the NO2 cartridges, but no idea why.
