Went to a party the other night
All the ladies were treating me right
Moving my feet to the disco beat
How in the world could I keep my seat
All of a sudden I began to change
I was on the dance floor acting strange
Flapping my arms I began to cluck
Look at me…I’m the disco duck.
Disco-disco-disco-disco duck
Disco-disco-disco-disco duck.
And with that, my test is complete.
Yet for the rest of us, the nightmare is just beginning.
You will explain, or I will make it my mission to hunt you down and destroy you.
I encountered a tricky looking problem, as follows:
I entered a post and clicked on Preview. I then added a strategic comma to the post and clicked on the Submit Message button immediately below the Preview window. To my surprise, the strategic comma failed to appear in the completed post.
I decided to perform some tests with commas and Preview windows in this forum, where I thought it would be a private matter and that no-one would come in asking about it.
While I was creating the OP I thought I could better demonstrate my point (to myself) if I quoted some of the lyrics of Disco Duck (1976) by Rick Dees and his Cast of Idiots. A lot of people underrate this song, and quite rightly too, but in my opinion it has its place in musical history, and no-one can take that away from it.
Anyway, my tests proved that pressing the Submit Message button under the Preview window, and pressing either of the Submit Reply buttons, achieved exactly the same results.
I had, in fact, made a mistake in the strategic comma scenario described above and the comma had, in fact, been a figment of my imagination.
This is the only explanation I can come up with right now. If I can possibly think of a better one I’ll let you know.
I ran across a similar problem on another message board. What I discovered is that after you either add text or correct an error, you must click “Preview” again instead of “Submit.” After you’ve chosen to preview your message, in other words, you must continue to preview it before submitting it. Otherwise, only your previous, uncorrected message will be posted if you skip the preview option and try to submit it directly after editing.
Really? I am unable to reproduce it.
At least in that post there.
That turned out to be the case on another message board with a
set up like this one. And it would explain the problem that Che
was describing. I’m new here, though, and my experience
with this particular board is limited.
