Continuing a look at the reaction of the right-wing media:
The Mail Online has as its top story
Boris Johnson delivered a half-hearted apology today after the Sue Gray report was finally published condemning ‘failures of leadership and judgment’ in Downing Street.

I think we all know the answer to that question.
Surprisingly, the Daily Mail has long been critical of Johnson (and so have its readers in the comments).
For true Tory servility, try the Daily Express.
I have to say that I’ve never heard Keir Starmer speak more powerfully.
Note how silent the Tory benches are while he’s speaking.
Starma is getting better. It is not often you hear a Labour leader quote Thatcher. Urging Conservative MPs to get rid of Johnson.
Johnson is expected to roll out some ‘red meat’ Brexit policies to appease his back benchers as a distraction.
He is also going to visit Ukraine with Liz Truss to play the international statesman.
To be immediately followed by the breakout of war. I mean, there’s no way Johnson and Truss are capable of doing anything but making any situation materially worse, no matter where they go.
In case you’re wondering, this is Liz Truss.
= “If there’s a leak, you know where to look, and it won’t be me”
You may laugh, but Lix Truss is very popular with the Conservative Party because of her bright and breezy attitude towards Brexit and her success in negotiating all these wonderful new trade deals.
Truss tells the party what they want to hear: all the Brexit stuff is done and dusted with no problems for the economy over trade. Truss has certainly learnt a thing or two about bluff and bluster from Boris.
She could be the next Prime Minister.
Yeah. The trouble is that there is nothing behind any of those trade deals apart from, well, disaster.
95% of them are just the same deal as they had in the EU rolled over, and the few which aren’t, we gave away everything. Ozzie and New Zealanders can import food tariff free to the UK of MUCH lower standards than our farmers, at a much lower cost. It will kill farming in the UK at a very wide level. And what did we get in return? Nothing. At all. Inexperienced trade negotiators desperate for any deal at all got their trousers taken down and spanked at an international level. The EU trade negotiators much have found this hilarious.
She’s now in charge of Brexit “negotiations” (a process which ended two years ago), so given her past record, she will give away Northern Ireland, Falklands and wherever else we have left (Johnson already did Gibraltar) to make the Tories happy.
The acceptance of Boris Johnson as a leader broke the modern tory party. They have very very low standards of abilities nowadays, I think they’re good if they literally don’t stab themselves in the eye. It appears the role is much more diversionary, while they rob the family silver, like Reagan and Bush 2.
It looks as though it is going to be a very one sided conversation, the Russians are not keen to talk to Boris. So the trip to Ukraine will be to give money and missiles. Diplomacy will amount to the Ukrainians not mentioning the Boris Johnson Partygate scandal.
You have to admire that kind of Ukrainian diplomatic restraint. Stifling giggles, let alone raucous laughter, can’t be easy.
I think the Ukrainians must be utterly bemused by the US and UK politicians that have reached out to them.
Trump with his threats and efforts to get dirt on Biden. Boris looking for a platform that that makes him look like a Churchill-like statesman dealing with a serious international crisis….Anything in order to distract from the revelations that he has been running Downing St like some kind of medieval court.
On the other hand, having Putin and the Russian army breathing down your neck must be very alarming indeed.
I would think more horror than bemusement, rather like a man drowning in the ocean flagging down a passing ship only to be thrown a stack of publicity headshots of the captain instead of a life preserver.
I laughed.
At least Ukraine knew their leader was a comedian when they elected him.
So did those of us who fell for his act. For quite a lot of people, that was precisely why they voted for him (as for Zelensky) - that he was the anti-politician.
BBC News - No evidence for Boris Johnson’s claim about Keir Starmer and Jimmy Savile
Boris Johnson “stands by” his comments, according to the prime minister’s official spokesperson, who declined to repeat them.
Og, but he’s a nasty piece of work (BoJo of course).
And what’s more, the group that represents the victims of Savile were utterly appalled at the politicisation of this case. And some Tory back benchers too.
The guy is an utter fool even to consider this was a good idea.
