Prince Andrew to lose HRH and military titles - just breaking (01-13-21)

Randy Andy has been an embarrassment to the Queen for a long time. He’s set himself up for a lawsuit like this.

Since you differentiate between boys’ and girls’ schools, Havergal is girls only. I know the place only by virtue of the fact that it’s just a block down the road from Pusateri’s, my favourite upscale boutique grocery store. Havergal gals can often be seen foraging at Pusateri’s in between classes, in their impeccable uniforms and groomed like princesses. Meanwhile I’m wandering around looking like a homeless bum in comparison. Just like the other schools you mention, anyone who can afford to send their brat there is definitely part of the corps d’elite. Tuition at some of them costs more than an average person’s entire gross salary – and one needs to remember that they are an alternative to free public education (although that does involve the necessity of mingling with masses and possibly getting cooties).

I don’t know if she’s “profiteering”, but she’s definitely profiting. I fully support her efforts to help bring this scum to justice as much as is legally possible, but I don’t think anyone has mentioned that the recently unsealed settlement agreement with Epstein shows that he paid her $500,000 to drop the lawsuit and not pursue charges. A drop in the bucket for Epstein, but real money to her. I will also add that IMHO all the evidence points to the conclusion that her suit against Andrew is legitimate and not just a cash grab.

Quite an unfortunate name for a girl’s school.

There is a lot to said for reminding the sort of person who hangs out with the Epstein’s and Maxwell’s of the world that their wealth and privilege won’t always protect them from bad consequences.

At this point Guiffre is the (in)famous victim, and her lawsuits will get noticed. Someone else popping up (legit or not) would not have the same affect on reputations.

And for those “sort of persons” getting dragged down and forced to part with their wealth and reputation is the greater and more effective penalty. As discussed earlier, there’s probably only relatively middling criminal offenses if any that can be proven to many of the Epstein/Maxwell associates… but the ruin of name, fortune and standing hurts them and does not go away after a couple of years under “supervision”.

I went to high school a few blocks from Havergal. I don’t think I need to tell you what we teen high school boys called it.

Who exactly are the witnesses? Epstein is dead and I doubt if Maxwell will admit guilt (she probably plans a lot of appeals and admitting guilt won’t help her).

Andrew was dumb enough to pose with Giuffre and Maxwell. Doesn’t prove sex. But he looks pretty relaxed with them.

Andrew’s people claim it’s photoshopped. Expert testimony will have to verify the photo.

No witnesses, other than Guiffre’s claims, which seem to me to be credible given the reputations of everyone involved including Randy Andy himself. Oh, and the picture, with his arm around Guiffre and Maxwell beaming in the background. Andrew’s defense? He knows nothing, he remembers nothing. I call it the Sergeant Shultz defense.

.

Correction - there is at least one potential eyewitness. Shukri Walker, who claims to have seen Andrew at a London club with a young woman on the night Giuffre claims he was with her and Andrew claims he was instead eating pizza in Woking with one of his young daughters (Beatrice who was 12 and has admitted to zero recollection of that particular event, but recalls often having pizza with her father around then). Walker reportedly claims to have apologized to Andrew for stepping on his foot and took particular note of him because she had never seen a royal.

Pfft. Who hasn’t had an encounter on a pool table?

Well, I’d just die if I got my HRH taken away!

Andrew has been kicked out of St Andrews.

Yep. Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews to Prince Andrew: No golf for you! It’s a venerable place where golf has been played since the 15th century. Andrew was once captain of the club, and now he’s out. If it was voluntary it was strictly in a technical sense; I’m sure it was made very clear by the club and probably by other royals that he was not welcome there.

Where exactly does Andrew’s money come from? Has he ever had a job other than his stint in the military? Has the Queen been paying him for all his honorary titles and ranks over the years? Is he on an allowance? Where did the $18 million come from to buy a chalet? Hell, where did he suddenly get the $6 million to pay off the chalet that he was being sued for?

If seems the finances of the citizen formerly known as HRH are rather opaque.

From Wikipedia:
"… It is unclear how Andrew finances his luxury lifestyle; in 2021 The Guardian wrote, “With little in the way of visible support, questions over how the Duke of York has been able to fund his lifestyle have rarely been answered. In the past he has appeared to live the jetset life of a multimillionaire, with holidays aboard luxury yachts, regular golfing sojourns and ski trips to exclusive resorts…”

No idea about the honorary titles and appointments but I would doubt there was any financial consideration involved (Very much open to correction there).

However, the royal family itself is independently wealthy (understatement). Both Sandringham and Balmoral are the personal property of one Mrs Elizabeth Windsor rather than being part of the Crown Estate (Buckingham Palace & Windsor Castle, for example) - with that much money sloshing around I’m sure mother dearest drops a couple of bob* every now and then and there’s plenty of hangers-on who help out in their own little way.

** ‘bob’ - really old slang for a pre-decimal shilling (1/20th of a pound)

This whole article is full of terrible behavior on his part, from open racism to treating his employees like shit. His entire money situation is murky. And the whole teddy bear thing is just fucked up.

The Mob takes another scalp.

That’s almost an understatement - it’s like something out of the film Blue Velvet. “Arrange my 50 teddy bears perfectly on my bed or I’m going to throw a fit. Here’s a photo so you get it right.” Human society should be suing him for extreme creepitude.

This was probably a bridge loan. Once the chalet was quickly sold, he paid it off with the profits. It would have been secured against the chalet itself. If that’s what it was, there is nothing sketchy there.
