A curiosity for those of us seeking alternative entertainment on TV is that one of the Sydney channels is offering the James Bond “On Her Majesties Secret Service”

I wonder who’ll get the “mind the kids” duty? Harry got it at Williams, Andrew at Charles…
Do they have a young unmarried male at round?

Such a happy looking couple. Sniff

It’s a beautiful day in Windsor. Bless the happy couple. I love Meghan’s mother.

Ugh. This holy rolling pastor is bugging me. Enough!

I had to shut the sound off, it’s like getting hollered at, in parts! Yikes!

The Brits don’t seem to know how to react to an American preacher (Bishop Michael Curry), lol.

OMG the children were adorable, especially the twins carrying Meghan’s train. And no visible contreceptives on the York girls. Presiding Bishop’s sermon is dragging on a bit though…

Some remarkable faces being pulled during that bit! Probably the first time Palaeolithic technological innovation formed part of a Royal wedding. The gospel choir doing Stand By Me was pretty great too.

A really nice wedding this.

He’s not exactly a “holy roller”. He’s the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America. Would you prefer a dull homily?

Damn, that cello player is kicking ass.

And now for the national anthem.

Magnificent, isn’t he?

Yes. Dreadful. Know your target audience, mate. We’re British, not American.

BTW one of the commentators said that nearly 2 billion people were watching. That’s 25% of the world!

You mean my country tis of thee?

Here’s wishing the newly-weds much joy and happiness.

Dress, not exactly ugly, but, IDK? She needs more underneath. Veil was dramatic.

Don’t care! The message was fine but the delivery, in parts, bordered on hollering.
It’s WAY too early in the day for that, And seemed out of place for the setting and/or created ambiance, in my opinion.

A little bit would have gone a long way, instead it went on WAY too long.

YMMV, of course!

It was early afternoon :dubious: When’s the best time of day for some entertaining preaching?

As an Episcopalian I’ve heard Bishop Curry preach several times, recorded and in person. In fact I was a delegate to the national convention when he was elected Presiding Bishop. That sermon was much shorter and more subdued than he he capable of. I was thinking “He’s really dialing it back for this Brits.”

Either Harry & Meghan asked him to preach knowing his style, or they asked him to preach not knowing his style. Either way, I would blame them and not him. Personally I think they were trolling the guests - she seemed to give Harry a knowing grin when it was over.

Sorry if this has been asked and answered before, but until this morning I’ve managed to avoid reading any stories about the wedding. But today I saw this page:

and was struck by the picture at the top. What the heck are they wearing on their lapels? And why do the men have added white tags to whatever it is when the woman doesn’t?

The only thought I came up with was that they are name tags, so whoever is directing this production makes sure to get the right player assigned to the right position on stage…but really? Really???
