Printer Question

Here at work I have an old HP DeskJet 820Cse printer. It has worked well for the past year or so, but I’ve been having problems with it recently. It still prints Word and Excel files quickly, but it seriously bogs down when I try to print a .pdf or anything else that is not a .doc or .xls. It literally drops down to about 10 to 15 minutes/page. As far as I can tell, nothing has changed in my setup (same printer, programs, etc). Any comments? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a printer memory problem; if the printer has user-installable memory modules, perhaps one of them has failed or is in need of reseating.

Or perhaps you’ve inadvertently changed the printer memory usage options (if any) in the printer driver.

Or maybe the files you’re printing lately are just bigger than they used to be (perhaps because of embedded objects such as images.
