You may or may not remember, but they used to do this… then Pats RB Robert Edwards, coming off an 1100 yard rookie season, blew out his knee rather completely while playing flag football at the Pro Bowl, and effectively ended his career.
As for the Pro Bowl itself, it’s a mockery for the NFL no matter where or when they do it, so they might as well save the money from doing a big week in Hawaii and just roll it in to the Super Bowl festivities.
Beach flag football to boot. In retrospect - and I never considered this before - maybe that was a bad idea.

EVERY All-Star game is a half-assed effort. Baseball’s effort to make it’s All-Star game count is pathetic and an absolute joke. World Series home field advantage to the winner of the All-Star game is absurd.
