Try as I may, I simply cannot wrap my mind around the whole “better McCain than Hillary” mindset coming from people who supposedly consider themselves left of center. What has McCain ever done that indicates he is politically to the left of Hillary Clinton? Has he given any indication that he will support even a single issue of importance to the political left? Do these people really believe that, on issues that matter to them, the policies of a McCain administration are going to be in synch with their concerns?
Well, if Hillary is counting her time in the East Wing as though it were the West Wing for experience, then she has to take credit for NAFTA, DADT, Welfare Reform (Workfare), the bombing of a Sudanese factory, and a host of other not-very-left things. McCain is to her left on immigration, campaign finance, and congressional pork.
Did you see how we just spent over half a million bucks to blow up a Somalii cow with a cruise missile?
This sort of cock up is practically a presidential tradition.
How do you figure he’s too her left on immigration? Here’s a summary of her views…

and his:
This from the President who said that he wouldn’t use a $2 million missile at a $10 empty tent to hit a camel in the butt?
To be fair, he still hasn’t.
Now, that I very much doubt. What do you base it on?
Until I get the opportunity to ACTUALLY bash Frau Blucher, I will continue to verbally do so until my tongue falls from my mouth.
Heh, I am a Pro-Obama Republican, so I don’t have any party loyalty, to either party to be honest. I may just vote for McCain if Hillary gets the nod, particularly if she shatters the party in her vain quest for glory.
The obvious and stark differences between how well managed the two campaigns are is the best evidence of executive potential.
And what exactly constitutes “bashing?” Critiques of her campaign management and strategies? Problems with her policies and various votes? Harsh words? Mentioning that we don’t like her and plan to not vote for her. Obviously the easiest way would be to adhere to Hillary’s own rather strict standards which are anything up to and including actual physical bashing.
Will the pro-hillary dems be held to this as Obama may still become the nominee?
Lastly, why bother? Hillary has already thrown Obama under the bus, choosing to unfavorably compare his experience to McCain’s (and whatever happened to Obama being a career politician. Doesn’t that grade school essay mean he has a lifetime of experience as well?). Why should the Obama-ites (as it’s been phrased so quaintly on the boards) play nice when the other side has zero intention of doing the same?
Because she’s much more vulnerable than he is to Pubs, later this year, citing this or that from the primaries and saying, “See, even Democrats despise her/him!”
IOW, just for the sake of our (presumably) shared goal of getting the Pubs out of the WH.
I look forward to seeing myself cited in a John McCain ad. “Even noted democrat Harborwolf won’t vote for Hillary Clinton. Why should you?”
While I understand your point, it is much too late to even attempt to play nice. As has been noted, Hillary has already nuked the “party fellowship” bridge from orbit. I’ll continue to say whatever I feel is appropriate with regards to Senator Clinton.
And to be honest, I’m not a democrat and I’m perfectly happy with Bush and his administration out of office.
I kinda get a kick out of watching the Clinton and Obama faction butt heads. It’s like watching Dunkin’ Donuts & Starbucks customers arguing over who makes the best coffee.
ETA: <space> between butt & heads.
So, Obama is Beavis?
Hope he doesn’t go all Cornholio. That could really hurt his chances, unless the american people also want t.p. for their bungholes.
Is it any surprise that a thread asking the Hillary-haters to cool it would be immediately flooded by Hillary-hatred?
In a board full of rewarmed, rehashed, futile arguments, I have a hard time thinking of anything more futile than these “Please stop posting political comments I don’t like!” threads.
If she wins the nomination I will, with great reluctance and choking back the bile, vote for her rather than John McCain or any third party candidate.
Good enough?
I don’t know why it would be a surprise. Good on you for pointing out the obvious though.
