I can’t count how many times Hillary is refered to as a bitch around here. Or hate her. May I remind you that her candidacy is supported by half, more or less of the democratic primary voters ? In previously unsurpassed numbers?
I haven’t heard Clinton supporters deliver the vitriol towards Obama like Clinton gets.
This is all the more perplexing when one of the most attractive properties of the Obama candidacy according to the media is the idea that he can reach out for independants and republicans to gain support for change. Well if his supporters around here are quite happy to hatefully bash his democratic opponent relentlessly, I can’t help but wonder if they are listening to their leader. Which makes me wonder why the hell they support him at all since they don’t subscribe for themselves Obama’s biggest asset over Hillary. It isn’t for lack of Obama preaching it.
Wait, we can’t bash public figures vitriolically any more? Or we can only bash them vitriolically for a certain time period, or a certain amount of Pit threads, and then we all have to make nice?
And this proves…what? That half the Democratic primary voters voted for someone who a lot of people think is a Bitch? So? We’re supposed to collectively quit calling her a bitch because X number of thousands of people voted for her? Maybe a percentage of those voters thought she was a Bitch but voted for her anyway because they thought she had more skilz than Obama? Didja think about that, huh?
Sounds to me like someone’s got some unrealistic expectations of basic human nature. You might as well have said, “Well if the Christians around here are quite happy to hatefully bash an opponent relentlessly, I can’t help but wonder if they are listening to their leader.”

I once read a term here on the boards talking about someone’s eyes referred to as “Manson lamps”. Hillary might have been alright at one point and time, but she’s got those Manson lamps going on big time. She scares the crap out of me.
This is one Obama supporter who hasn’t bashed Hillary, but she has shown some condescension in her comments towards Obama that he hasn’t shown to her and that are kind of annoying. However, if Hillary gets the nom (if she gets it fairly, that it. I’d be pretty pissed if the party superdelegates handed her the nom even if Obama won more elected delegates), I won’t have any problem voting for her, I just won’t expect her to win.
I do think that there is more sexist sentiment about Hillary than there is racial bias against Obma, though.
What is this, high school politics? She’s can’t be a bitch because she’s popular? I think a lot of the Hillary-hating is unfair, but them’s the breaks. It’s politics and there’s no point in asking people to be dispassionate about it.
Sexist sentiment? She could be a man’s man. She ould have a dick that required a dump truck to carry it in. She could have 15 Medals of Honor and be one of the greatest heroes this country has ever known. But her last name is Clinton, and she’s spent the last 16 years being skeezy. That’s what this is all about. There are a hell of a lot more racists than there are chauvinists in this country.

I think those who dislike Hillary are doing themselves a disservice by calling her a bitch, a cunt, a shrilly harpy, and the like. It’s okay to not like the woman, because Lord knows I’m not on the crazy train of love for her, but it’s very annoying when people to choose to attack her using language rooted in sexism and misogyny. It’s annoying because the valid reasons to dislike her are plentiful. So why give her supporters any reason to think the ire has anything to do with her gender? In a strategic sense it just makes it harder to woo those supporters to Obama. But beyond that, it just takes some of the fun out of jumping on Hillary’s shit.
Hillary is not anymore a bitch or a cunt than most die hard politicians, and so she deserves the same epithets that we call them. Can’t we strive to not let her gender color the way we bash her? I don’t think that’s too lofty of a goal.
I admit that I’m surprised about the amount of Hillary Hate I’ve been seeing. The conventional wisdom has been that since she’s been in the public eye for the last 12 years or so, there’d be no new dirt to dig up. Instead, the dislike seems to have crystallized into rabid hatred.
As someone who’s voted Republican more often than not, I’d planned to vote for her if she was the Democratic candidate. If nothing else, she seems competent, which has been in pretty short supply lately.
I was bashing Hillary long before I supported Obama. Long before she ran for President, even. I’m not about to stop now. Build a bridge out of your tears and get over it.
I think you’re misreading it: most of this is really fear that the Democrats will nominate the wrong person. Some of it is new dirt in the sense that some voters really, really dislike the way she’s conducted her campaign. But the vast majority of people supporting Obama will still vote for her if they have to, given the choice between her and McCain.
American insults track gender very closely. I heard my grandpa call most of the politicians he heard about “SOBs” in my youth, and I resort to that description myself sometimes.
Doesn’t work for Hillary, though, because she’s not a son of anything, and other things that pop to mind are far too extreme to type on a nice family message board like this one.

Read **Shayna’s ** links. I’m a liberal, and usually a democrat, but I think that Hilary Clinton is an unprincipled bitch who will do anything it takes to get into the White House, morals be damned. I utterly loathe people like that. Her lying and saying Obama worked for a slumlord is no different from Bush’s operatives in South Carolina in the 2000 primary lying and saying McCain had an illegitimate black child. It is disgusting, loathsome politics, and anyone who practices it disqualifies him or herself from office.
