I was just wondering about that. Seems like a year ago there was some mention of archiving or outright deleting old threads (more than 6 months since last post). To ease the load on the server.
Is this just not feasable? Not possible? It seems like a great idea, but is there some reason it can’t be done? Or would it just not help enough to even bother with?
Just curious-
Thanks,

UBB (the software we used to use) had an option for archiving old threads, but there’s no efficient way to do it under vB, so we haven’t bothered. As to deleting old threads, we do occasionally, but only for threads which really don’t have any relevance anymore (old ATMB test threads, announcements of events which are done and gone, etc.). Besides, according to the official stuff that the programmers tell us about vB, getting rid of old threads probably won’t increase efficiency any. It’s not having stuff (old threads) which burdens the server, it’s doing stuff (like adding to threads).
